Job Purpose: To lead, co-ordinate with and advise the Junior Lawyers and Assistants in the Legal Department. To Advise the General Counsel on various aspects of Myanmar Law.

Dimensions: The SML overseas and manages the local legal team and resources within the Legal Department. The SML is expected to motivate and groom the local team within the Legal Department.
Job requirement
Duties / Accountabilities:

 Work in close coordination with the General Counsel to oversee the ongoing registration of ground leases across Myanmar.

 Working directly with the General Counsel on company compliance with the laws and regulations in Myanmar, including company secretarial requirements with DICA and reports to be provided to MIC.

 Liaising with the Ministries and relevant governmental bodies in furtherance of applications for approvals and requests made by the company.

 Drafting legal documents and notices to errant landlords.

 Attending to site issues concerning the community and municipal bodies.

 Management of legal cases, both civil and criminal, at the courts.

 Other duties as required from time to time.


 To lead the Junior Lawyers and Assistants in the Legal Department.

 With the prior approval of the General Counsel, to represent the company at DICA, MIC, PTD and other Governmental Bodies

 Handle other matters identified by the General Counsel from time to time.

Requirements / Competencies

 Ability to communicate in English, write reasonably well in English, strong knowledge of Myanmar law, ability for legal drafting in English and in Myanmar language.

 Hard working and dedicated attitude. Politeness and the ability to lead by example.
